2019 First Half Of, 200 Shoe Making Enterprises In Italy Went Bankrupt.

Recently, according to the data released by the Italy Footwear Manufacturers Association (Assocalzaturifici), nearly 200 companies in the Italy footwear industry went bankrupt in the first half of 2019, and nearly 1000 people lost their jobs.

Italy national Footwear Manufacturers Association said in a statement that in 2019 1-6 months, 119 shoe making enterprises went bankrupt and 492 were unemployed. Over the same period, 75 other footwear products and accessories manufacturers closed, causing 493 workers to lose their jobs.

According to the data released by the Italy Footwear Manufacturers Association in 2018, there are 4500 shoe companies in Italy, employing 75 thousand and 600 people, with an annual output value of 14 billion 300 million euros.

Siro Badon, chairman of the Italy Footwear Manufacturers Association, commented: "in order to get through the difficult times, we need to invest more in technology and skills. Italy shoemaking enterprises need to train more and more innovative technology talents."
